Starting a Farm with Amy & Suju
The first blog interview is here!
We were chatting visions and goals one night – what your current goals are and how they align with your greater vision(s).
I was reflecting on the fact that this trip IS a vision of mine come to life and that I feel really aligned with my goals and how they are connected to my bigger vision. But I remembered in this conversation one piece of the vision that I wasn’t actively taking steps in.
In the last year I’ve been inspired to create a platform that tells the stories of farmers and provides a space to amplify the voices of those working so closely with the land.
Farmers I’ve met and connected to in my life have been some of my biggest inspirations as people who are embodying the change I believe is most needed in this world. Their stories aren’t told enough and their voices aren’t heard enough. They are some of the most important people — with SO much knowledge and wisdom because they are the people on the ground, hands in the earth, living with the soil of place, first to witness the changes that are happening — without them, we would not have the food we fill our plates with.
SO, I asked Amy and Suju if I could interview them for my blog as a first step towards this podcast vision! I simply recorded it with my phone, and there are a few moments where you can hear the pressure cooker releasing in the background ; )
We talked about their story of coming together and starting their farm, some of the differences between agriculture in Australia vs Nepal, the sacredness of food, and some advice for anyone else on their own journey to starting a farm.
